Dizzee Rascal, is an English rapper, record producer and recording artist. He is an explorer of grime music, his work has also formed into a legal corporation with the UK garage, British, bassline, hip hop, and R&B. In 2003, he released his acclaimed debut album Boy in da Corner, which earned him the 2003 Mercury Prize.

He was encouraged by a music teacher, and began making music on the school’s computer, during the summer holidays, he attended a music workshop organised by Tower Hamlets Summer University, where he is now a patron, he become a fan of the grunge band Nirvana. He first learned to rap over bass tracks and drum with 170-180 bpm, in contradistinction to the slower tempos of UK Garage. He was also influenced by crunk, Black Sabbath, grunge music and by Timbaland’s work around that time.

Follow-up albums Showtime, Tongue n’ Cheek, and Maths + English, have been praised and certified platinum, Tongue n’ Cheek has gone platinum for sales exceeding 300,000 units in the United Kingdom. He has scored the number-one hits “Dance wiv Me”, “Bonkers”, “Holiday”, “Dirtee Disco”, “Shout”.
