Cock Robin
Cock Robin began as a local rock band from Buffalo, NY in the early 1970’s. With a lot of ambition and a unique name borrowed from a British fairy tale, the band set out to conquer the local club scene. Playing an endless trail of smoky bars from Buffalo to Syracuse, the word quickly spread about a group that played great rock music and delivered a good time. Within a few short years, Cock Robin developed a huge following of dedicated fans that didn’t seem to mind waiting in line to get a chance to see and hear them. Infamous WNY bars such as He & She’s, The Barrel Head, Stage One, Uncle Sam’s and Patrick Henry’s featured the band on a regular basis, and if you were going out any night of the week, the “place to be” was wherever Cock Robin was playing.
Cock Robin officially disbanded in 1981, but the fans never forgot them. In 2002, what originated as an idea to play a one-time reunion gig for friends, suddenly blossomed into four sold out shows at the Tralf and a number of outdoor events. The word was out……Cock Robin was back, and so was the excitement.
