Bryan B. is a son of Theo Bijlhout, who is also a well-known singer.

In 1990 he sang the song Vanity during SuriPop VI, which was written by Harold Gessel. In 1992 he went to
the Netherlands. There he sang soul songs in dinner shows for a long time. He also released albums with
Surinamese versions of well-known songs. He took part in the Soundmixshow in 1993 where he reached the final
as a Luther Vandross impersonator. In 2011, he dropped out in the blind auditions with The Voice of Holland. In
2012, Bijlhout became known in the Netherlands when he won the talent show The Winner is… on SBS6. He
earned one million euros with it, and used the money for the recordings of the album ‘a Night of Soul‘.

Bijlhout was honored in both the Bijlmer and the Independence Square in Paramaribo, where he was appointed
commander in the Honorary Order of the Yellow Star by President Desi Bouterse.

Bijlhout took part in the ninth season of The Voice of Holland (2018/2019). In the first live show he had to leave the
field because he got too few votes from the audience.

In September 2021 he was the winner of the Dutch program Beat me: The Five Knock-Outs with a prize money of
50.000 euros.
